IPTV Help Center — Setup, Settings and Fixes That Actually Work
Getting started, the two settings that resolve most buffering, and step-by-step fixes for the problems we see most often. Written from real support tickets rather than a generic template.
Getting started in three steps
1. Take the trial
Tell support which device you watch on. A 36-hour line is issued by a person, usually within minutes, along with the right app for that hardware.
2. Install the player
Firestick and Android TV install with a Downloader code. Smart TVs use their own store and activate by MAC. MAG and Formuler take a portal URL.
3. Sign in and let the guide load
Enter the credentials exactly as sent. Leave the EPG to finish downloading on first launch — it can take a minute on older hardware.
Buffering and freezing: the two settings that fix most cases
The overwhelming majority of buffering reports are resolved by two changes, and neither has anything to do with your provider or your internet plan.
Buffer size. Most players default to 1–2 seconds, which is tuned for a phone on strong Wi-Fi. On a TV stick or a set-top box, raise it to 4–6 seconds. You trade a slightly slower channel change for a stream that absorbs network jitter instead of stalling on it.
Decoder. Force hardware decoding rather than software or automatic. A Fire Stick's processor cannot decode 4K in software and will drop frames trying, which looks identical to a network problem but is not one.
If it still stutters after both: close background apps before you start watching. On a Fire Stick, hold the Home button, open Applications, and force-stop anything running. Available memory is the limiting factor on that hardware far more often than bandwidth is.
How to tell a network problem from a service problem
- Everything buffers, only in the evening — network congestion, yours or your ISP's. Test the same channel at 2pm; if it is clean, that is your answer.
- Only 4K channels buffer — you are at the bandwidth ceiling. HD will be stable; either accept HD on that TV or improve the connection to it.
- One channel buffers, the rest are fine — server-side. Report the channel name and the time.
- Everything buffers on one device only — that device or its Wi-Fi signal. Test the same line on a phone on the same network to confirm.
What internet speed you actually need
| Stream quality | Recommended speed | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| SD | 5 Mbps | Works on almost any connection, including mobile data |
| HD (720p / 1080p) | 15 Mbps | The realistic target for most US households |
| 4K / UHD | 25 Mbps or more | Per stream — double it if two TVs watch 4K at once |
| Multiple devices | Add per stream | Consistency matters more than headline speed |
Guide (EPG) problems
An empty or partial guide has two common causes. If the line was added as a plain M3U playlist, the guide usually has to be supplied separately and often is not — re-add it using the Xtream Codes login option instead, which carries channels, VOD and the EPG over one connection. If it was added correctly and the guide is still thin, it was probably still downloading when you opened it. Close the app fully, reopen, and give it a minute before judging.
If the guide is populated but shifted by a few hours, the player's timezone is wrong rather than the data. That setting is usually under playback or general preferences, not under EPG.
Login and activation problems
Three causes account for nearly every failed login:
- A trailing space picked up when the username or password was pasted. Retype both by hand.
- A missing port number on the server URL. Copy it exactly as sent, including http or https and any port after the colon.
- MAC mismatch on Smart TVs and MAG boxes. Devices with both wired and wireless interfaces have two different MAC addresses — tell us which one you are connected by, and photograph the screen rather than reading the characters out.

Common questions
My stream buffers every few seconds — what do I change first?
Raise the player's buffer to 4–6 seconds and force the hardware decoder rather than software. Those two settings resolve the large majority of buffering reports. If it persists, test the same channel on a wired connection or a mobile hotspot to establish whether the cause is your Wi-Fi.
Only one channel buffers and everything else is fine.
That is a server-side issue with that specific stream, not a settings problem on your device. Report the exact channel name and the time you watched it — that is what support needs to route it to the right server.
My EPG or TV guide is empty.
Either the guide was still downloading when you opened it, or the line was added as a plain M3U playlist without a separate EPG source. Re-add it using the Xtream Codes login option instead, and leave it alone for a minute or two on the first load.
The app says my login is invalid.
Almost always a trailing space picked up when the credentials were pasted, or the server URL entered without its port number. Retype both by hand rather than pasting, and check the URL matches exactly what we sent, including http or https.
The app downloaded but will not install.
Unknown Sources is switched off. On a Firestick: Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options → Apps from Unknown Sources. On Android TV: Settings → Security & Restrictions → Unknown Sources.
I have not received my login details.
Paid orders are usually activated within minutes. Check your spam folder first — that is where the large majority of 'missing' emails are. If it has been more than an hour, message support with your order number.
Audio is out of sync with the picture.
Most players have an audio delay control in playback settings; a small negative offset usually corrects it. If it happens on one channel only, report it rather than adjusting, because the offset is then in the source feed.
Can I move my subscription to a new device?
Yes. Install the app on the new device and sign in with the same credentials. If your device activates by MAC address — a Smart TV or a MAG box — send support the new MAC and we will move the line across.
When to contact support — and what to send
Message support once you have tried the buffer and decoder changes above. To get a useful answer in the first reply rather than the third, include: the device you are using, the player app, the exact channel name if it affects one channel, the time you watched, and whether it also happens on a second device. A screenshot of any error message is worth more than a description of it.
Still stuck?
Support is available around the clock — most setup problems are solved in a single reply.
